As of 3 p.m. Beijing time, the death toll has risen to 95, and another 130 people have been reported injured, according to local officials.<\/p>\n<p>On the same earthquake of the Tibet region of China near the Nepal border. The tremors from this earthquake were strongly felt across Nepal and in parts of India and Bangladesh. While it caused significant destruction in China, there have been no reports of major damage or casualties in Nepal. We are safe.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for comprehensive rescue efforts to save lives and minimize casualties following the magnitude-6.8 earthquake that struck Dingri County in Xigaze City, southwest China&#8217;s Xizang Autonomous Region, on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>In his capacity as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, Xi emphasized the need for utmost efforts to treat the injured and prevent secondary disasters.<\/p>\n<p>He also directed authorities to properly resettle affected residents and manage the aftermath effectively.
