February 7, Kathmandu – The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) has strongly opposed U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to relocate 1.8 million Palestinians from Gaza to other Arab nations. Senior Vice Chairman of the party, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, took to social media to condemn Trump’s remarks, calling them a blatant reflection of imperialist and expansionist policies.
According to Shrestha, Trump’s proposal is a direct violation of the United Nations Charter, the principle of sovereign equality of all nations, and the UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue. He further stated that this plan undermines international law and the fundamental principles of human civilization, urging the global community to reject it resolutely.
‘U.S. Plan to Occupy Gaza is Unacceptable’
On Wednesday, during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Trump proposed controlling Gaza and relocating its Palestinian population to other Arab countries. He described Gaza as a ‘devastated site’ and justified the removal of Palestinians as a means to eliminate ‘live bombs’ and facilitate American-led reconstruction efforts.
However, the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) has condemned this statement, asserting that such a plan is morally and legally indefensible. Leader Shrestha stated, “The only viable solution to the ongoing conflict is the continuation of the ceasefire and the implementation of the two-state solution, as endorsed by the United Nations, leading to the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.”
Calls on Nepal Government to Take a Clear Stand
The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) has urged the Nepalese government to take an independent and non-aligned foreign policy stance on this issue and publicly clarify its position. The party has condemned the U.S. proposal in the strongest terms and has called on all nations to stand against it.
